The Groovy Girlz Tennis Camps are free introductory 1.5 hour sessions for girls ages 7-10 years. The program began in 2005 in order to get more young females particpating in tennis, and encourage an enjoyable start in the sport that is social and non-competitive.

Girls are taught hand-eye and racquet coordination skills, teamwork and fair play while learning the basics of rallying, volleying, and serving. Certified female coaches use foam balls and provide racquets for all participants to use during the day. At the end, each girl receives a pink Groovy Girlz T-shirt or a special tennis badge for Girl Guides. Groovy Girlz camps are sponsored by 2010 Legacies Now.

In 2008 Tennis BC partnered with BC Girl Guides to deliver free tennis camps to girls throughout the province; we created the first Girl Guides (Pink) Tennis Badge as part of the certificate of the Guides skill building. In 2009 Tennis BC delivered over 15 Groovy Girlz Camps, 12 of which were specifically for BC Girl Guides.
