Girls:

Rebecca Marino

Towering over her opponents at nearly 6'2"ft at age 16, Rebecca will likely be the highest recruited female player for NCAA Div.1 University coaches in 2007/2008.  She represents BC's youth who will likely be on the professional scene in the future. Rebecca's takes out opponents with her big serve and forehand.  Rebecca has made a quick rise from beginning competitive play in the Rookie Tour at the age 12 to two years later winning the women's open category at the Rogers Open @ Stanley Park.  Highlights include. 

  • 2007 Canadian Junior International Champion
  • 2006 U16 Indoor National Singles Champion
  • Represented Canada at the 2006 World Junior Team Championship in Mexico
  • 2005 Roger Open @ Stanley Park Women's Open Champion (youngest ever to win, 14 years)


Stefi Gjine

Intensely competitve and a true grinder, you can see Stefi chasing down balls throughout her match and wearing down opponents.  At age 16, Stefi has already begun competing in professional events across North & Central America, the Caribean, and Mexico while earning her first WTA Tour points.  Highlights include:

  • 2007 Stanley Park Open presented by Acura Women's Champion
  • 2006 U16 Indoor National Doubles Champion
  • 2005 ITF World Junior Ranking Event Singles Champion
  • 2004 U14 Indoor National Singles Champion

Khristina Blajkevitch

Defines art, grace, flare and talent.  At the age of 15, Khristina is separting herself for her peers quickly.  She competes internationally in Jr. world ranking events year round.  Highlights include:

  • Canadian Jr. National Team Member
  • 2007-U16 Indoor National Singles Finalist
  • 2006-U14 Indoor National Singles Champion
  • 2006-U14 Indoor National Doubles Champion
  • 2006-Helped lead Canada to the World Jr. Team Regional Championship over the United States and Mexico

Guys:

Philip Bester

Philip has now begun his professional career and could be Canada's top singles player within the next 5 years.  Now a Davis Cup Team member, he was signed by the prestigous IMG agencies at the age 14.  Philip's serve and volleying game is earning him international recognition and may soon be seen competing at the world's largest events.  Highlights include:

  • 2006-Jr. French Open Finalist (defeated the #2 world junior in the semi-finals)
  • 2006-Began the year ranked #8 in the ITF World Jr. Rankings
  • 2005-Began competing professionally
  • 2005-Named to the Canadian Davis Cup Team
  • 2004-U18 National Singles Champion
  • 2003-U16 National Singles Champion
  • 2002-U14 National Singles Champion
  • 2002-Signed with the IMG Agency at age 14. (Same agency that represent Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, and Tiger Woods)

Vasek Pospisil

In 2007, dominated the national junior events by winning both the U18 Indoor and U18 Outdoor National Championship titles.  He won his first professional event in Quebec after taking doubles title at the $10, 000 National Bank Futures Event in Quebec.  He also gained an ATP Tour world ranking in singles this year.  He won 3 singles and 5 doubles on the ITF Jr. World Circuit, while competing mostly in Europe. 

  • 2007-Won U18 Indoor and U18 Outdoor National Titles
  • 2007-Won ITF World Ranking Titles in the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, and Canada
  • 2007-Won first professional tournament by taking the doubles title at the $10, 000 National Bank Futures Event 
  • 2007-Gained first ATP professional world ranking points
  • 2004-U14 Canadian National Indoor Champion

Graeme Kassautzki

Consistently ranked as the top junior player in BC, and in 2005 established himself as the top men's open player by sweeping the first four Odlum Brown Summer Series Events.  He also finished 2006 ranked as the #1 BC Men's Open players. Graeme currently competing for the University of New Mexico. Highlights include:

  • 2007-Canadian University Collegiate Invitational Champion
  • 2006-Ranked as BC's #1 Men's Open Player
  • 2005-Ranked as BC's #1 Men's Open Player  
  • 2004-Canadian Jr. National Team player
  • 2003-U16 Canadian National Singles Champion
  • 2003-U16 Canadian National Doubles Champion
