2007 BC Senior Provincial Championships, June 3 - 10

The Championships were played at the Richmond Country Club ~ and what wonderful tennis it was. There were 319 entries in 40 events from Men’s/Women’s 35 singles and doubles to Men’s 80/85 singles and doubles. In addition to the BC players, this year we had participants from Alberta and Saskatchewan. There was a major contingent from Vancouver Island, plus seven players from the Interior. It was truly a provincial event.

Hats off to Head Tennis Professional, Fabio Walker, his two assistants, Isaac Asuncion and Kristine Ang, and the club’s volunteers. They and the staff were hard-working and great hosts. Good news ~ the Club will host again in 2008, the 6th time the event has been held there. Thanks also to the referee, Dave Ouellet, and his officials. Scheduling was a nightmare with 14 pages of “avoidances” plus the inclement weather.
