Tennis BC Membership Benefits
During the course of the year we are frequently asked "what does Tennis BC do and what benefit is it for me to be a member"?
Hopefully after reading this you will have a better understanding of Tennis BC and why it benefits the whole tennis community to be a member.
1) What is Tennis BC? ·Tennis BC is the provincial sport organization that promotes tennis. It is an association of clubs, parks and recreation centers and individual members. We currently have around 14,000 members.
2) What does this mean? Tennis BC wants more people, adult and youth playing tennis. Our mission is to "grow the game" throughout the province.
3) How do we "grow the game"? Tennis BC has a wide range of community program including a successful elementary schools program and introductory tennis lessons through Parks and Recreation centers and clubs.
We do calendar planning of over 100 sanctioned and non-sanctioned events annually throughout the province. The Rogers Open @ Stanley Park, Jr. Provincials, Sr. Provincials (partners with Richmond Country Club), Jr. Indoor Circuit are organized by Tennis BC, the remainder are organized by the host club.
Tennis BC administers Tennis Canada’s Coaching Certification program. In other words we "train the trainers".
