Kamloops/Kelowna, BC – As we head into the warm summer months, tennis is picking up across the province. Here’s the latest update on tennis in the Interior:

Elementary School League

Four schools played each other twice, followed by a Jamboree at the end of the year at the Global Fitness & Racquet Centre in Kelowna. Over 100 kids played at the same time on mini-tennis courts! The league commissionaire is Johnny Vesterinen.

Kamloops J5 Championships sponsored by Fulton & Company LLP Kamloops

The first junior ITF tournament in Kamloops took place last week. Organized by Tournament Director, Kelly Hubbard (also the Head Pro in Kamloops), it was fantastic to see local juniors excelling in the Interior. Three junior from the Interior competed at the ITF event: Paige, Naomi and Ben. View the results here

Regional Junior Tournaments

Regional Junior Tournaments such as Rogers Rookie Tour and Future Stars events took place recently giving local juniors the opportunity to play and compete. View the Tennis BC Tournament Page for all the events

Kelowna Thursday Night Men’s League

The Kelowna Thursday Night Men’s League is going into its 8th year with 40 players on 4 teams, and a 4.0 to 4.5 level of play. This league is running all summer long on public and private courts in the City with all proceeds going to the Kelowna General Hospital. This league is run by Greg Bishop.

Regional Team Tennis Play-Off Weekend
